It was all on whim. As Covid-19 cases were going up. The nation reacted. Schools in particular shut down and went to at home learning. Like most parents out there, the adjustment was a bit tough for us. We had to adapt quickly, we conjured up a makeshift study area. Our son was a trooper, we tried to make the most out of his new “classroom”. My wife searched online to find the necessary things to make his classroom more encouraging for learning. Most things were out-of-stock or marked up beyond reason but she managed to find a desk with pair of chairs. With that purchase we managed to improve our son’s at home set-up but it took some time to find the right desk and it was more costly than it should have been. It hit me randomly one day that I should have just made his desk. I thought of the other parents in our situation and all the stress they went through in setting up at home learning, finding certain things to facilitate learning at home, etc. That’s when I decided that I was going to help out some parents in providing something for them during this difficult time. After a quick prototype, KidsNeed was birthed.
